Albert and I are recently retired from the life of farming.
We had a select herd of approximately 30 horses, all of which
were home-grown. The majority were brood mares that
produced 6 to 10 exciting youngsters each year, some of which we
would exhibit in shows in Southern Ontario, including the
Exhibition and Royal Winter Fair. However, no matter how
nice all your animals are, you can only show so many!
Striving for quality, our stock carried the bloodlines of
world-renowned animals. Our goal was to produce an animal
who was competitive in the conformation ring and could
successfully do what it was bred for. We had stopped
hitching but continued to strive for the same heads-up,
free-moving ability in our foals. We used the same
standards to create versatility in our dogs.
Having been interested and involved in dogs for as long as I can
remember, our family fell in love with a Siberian Husky fostered
for Canine Vision Canada. My involvement evolved into
exhibiting Siberian Huskies in 1985 and establishing the "ThundeRun"
prefix in 1988. My first Siberian litter arrived in July
1990 which resulted in 2 owner-handled Champions.
Australian Shepherds have been our breed now since 1996 and we
pride ourselves in being breeder-owner-handlers.
