My family always had a dog while I was growing up (from a boxer to a lab/hound mix to a poodle). In 2000, I purchased my first purebred boxer. We completed level 2 obedience and level 3 agility together. He provided me with many happy memories before he passed away, far too soon, in 2006.

I purchased my second boxer in 2008 with an eye towards showing in conformation. With the help of members of the Barrie Kennel and Obedience Club and professional handler Tom Curley, Aidan and I completed his championship in 2009. Quite an accomplishment for a first-time handler and an exuberant boxer pup. Aidan is still seen periodically at shows but his main role is my companion.

I continue to be a member of the Barrie Kennel and Obedience Club and have served as the Education Chair. I really appreciate the chance to learn and the camaraderie that the Club provides.
